Meet Sergey, a passionate student in Plaza College’s Dental Hygiene program. Sergey discovered the program through a colleague who had worked with many graduates from the School of Dental Sciences. Seeking a more personalized and supportive learning environment, he was drawn to Plaza’s close-knit, family-oriented atmosphere. After transferring from another college, Sergey greatly appreciates the unwavering support from both faculty and peers. He credits much of his success at Plaza College to the dedication of the faculty, saying, “The faculty go above and beyond for the students. I’ve personally experienced this difference, and it’s been really impactful for me.”
Professors describe Sergey as an exceptional student—intelligent, kind, and reliable—who consistently goes above and beyond to assist his classmates during clinic and lab practice. Sergey finds the hands-on clinical experience one of the most rewarding aspects of his education because it allows him to apply what he’s learned while directly impacting patients’ oral health.
Beyond academics, the friendships Sergey has built at Plaza have become a defining part of his journey. “I came from an environment where I didn’t know anyone, and now I’ve met some of the closest people in my life through this program.”
Looking ahead, Sergey envisions a future as a traveling Registered Dental Hygienist or working in private practice, confident that his skills and self-assurance will continue to grow.
