A strong foundation in the sciences is the first step toward most clinical healthcare careers. The
Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences is an interdisciplinary liberal arts–based program that
prepares students, in a supportive, interactive, and cost-efficient learning environment, to
pursue graduate-level degrees or certifications in health-related professions.
What is Health Sciences?
This program is designed to give you a solid start no matter which healthcare career path you
pursue. You will build knowledge in the health and life sciences that you’ll apply in both
advanced study and professional practice. Coursework lays the groundwork for understanding patient care, evidence-based practice, disease prevention, wellness promotion, and healthcare administration.

The Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences is designed to build upon and expand a student’s foundational knowledge in the health sciences, preparing graduates for a wide range of career opportunities and advanced study in the health professions. The program integrates general education, liberal arts, advanced sciences, and research while emphasizing the development of critical thinking, problem-solving, and leadership skills essential for today’s healthcare environment.
Coursework provides a deeper understanding of healthcare systems, evidence-based practice, disease prevention, and wellness promotion, while also exploring the social, ethical, and administrative dimensions of healthcare delivery. Students will graduate prepared to enter the workforce in allied health fields or pursue graduate-level education in areas such as nursing, public health, physician assistant studies, healthcare administration, or other professional programs.
