On Wednesday, August 7th, Plaza College’s School of Dental Sciences hosted a memorable pinning ceremony for Cohorts 9 and 1 of both the full-time and part-time Dental Hygiene programs. The celebration was held at The Inn at New Hyde Park, where friends, family, and faculty gathered to honor the milestone.

The pinning ceremony marks a pivotal moment in each students’ journey toward becoming a dental hygienist, signifying the transition from student to professional. The evening began with inspiring words from Dr. Laura Sleeper, Dean of Dental Sciences, and Harold Jennings, Director of the Part-Time Dental Hygiene Program, who praised the graduates’ academic achievements and professionalism.

Student keynote speaker Jackelin Brito delivered an inspiring message, emphasizing the importance of embracing their new roles as professionals and highlighting the fulfilling nature of their chosen careers.

The celebration continued with a keynote address from Dr. Jean Hall, former president of the New York Dental Hygiene Association and current president of the Long Island Dental Hygiene Association. Dr. Hall commended the graduates for their dedication and academic accomplishments.

Certificates of achievement and awards were presented to the students by the administration.The ceremony concluded with a celebration alongside friends and family. Congratulations to all of the Dental Hygiene graduates on this well-deserved accomplishment!
