On Thursday, April 3, 2025, Plaza College’s School of Nursing welcomed students, faculty, staff, administrators, and distinguished guests to its annual Evidence-Based Poster Presentation, held in the Plaza Commons. The event brought the campus community together for a morning of academic excellence, collaboration, and celebration.This year’s theme, Mental Health Awareness, took center stage as seven student groups presented their research. Their work offered attendees a meaningful opportunity to engage with diverse and thought-provoking perspectives on mental well-being.

The event began with a warm introduction by Professor Dakar, followed by an inspiring keynote from Chief Guest Dr. Ashamole Nair, who received a special gift from SNA President Katherine Wilford. Each student group provided an overview of their research before transitioning into an interactive poster presentation session. Attendees explored each project up close, asking questions and engaging in thoughtful discussion.Faculty members recognized the students’ dedication with a certificate distribution ceremony, featuring remarks from Dr. Charlyn Habeeb, Dr. Spahic, Professor Makatura, Director Atkinson, Professor Dorfman, Professor Thomas, and Professor Dakar.

This event marked a major milestone for Nursing Cohort 4, celebrating their hard work, commitment to research, and progress as future healthcare professionals. We are incredibly proud of our students for presenting their research, as this achievement marks a significant step forward in their journey toward becoming Registered Nurses.The event wrapped up at noon, leaving everyone inspired by the innovative ideas, collaborative spirit, and academic excellence that define the Plaza College community.
