On Friday, August 9th, students from Plaza College’s School of Nursing showcased their semester-long Evidence Based Research at the Third Annual Senior Nursing Poster Presentation. The event began with a greeting from the nursing faculty followed by a keynote address delivered by Ms. Daniella Stephen. As the Senior Director of Nursing Quality and Education at Mt. Sinai Queens, Ms. Stephen is passionate about patient safety and staff education and empowerment.

Students presented posters covering a diverse range of topics including Ethnic Variables in Postpartum Depression, Implementing De-Escalation Training Programs to Reduce Workplace Violence Against Nurses, Exploring Nursing Burnout and Its Impact on Mental Health, The Impact of Nursing Care Behind the GLP-1 Trend, The Impact of Multicultural Nursing, and Gender Inequality in The Healthcare Workplace. 

Attendees engaged with the presentations through dynamic discussions with student groups and interactive displays. At the conclusion of the event, the nursing faculty announced the winners of the presentation. The third-place award went to Carlos B., Jasmine D., Jentiana J., Medgina O., and Wiktoria P. for their research on de-escalation training programs. The second-place award was presented to Anetta G., Ashley C., Lisa M., Katherine V., and Stephanie P. for their exploration of the GLP-1 trend in nursing care. First place was awarded to Milana M., Yesabel C., Joelle H., Joseph A., and Desiree P. for their impactful research on ethnic variables in postpartum depression.
