Before attending Plaza, Valerie S. was pursuing her Bachelor’s degree in Communications, when⁣⁣ she took a trip to work with her aunt, and decided to change her career path.⁣⁣

“Before I began studying to become a Court Reporter, I earned my Bachelor’s degree in⁣⁣
Communications with a minor in Sociology. During my junior year of college I spent a day at⁣⁣ work with my aunt, the Captain of the Court Officers in the Westchester Court House. That day,⁣⁣I was introduced to the idea of becoming a Court Reporter. I had the opportunity to spend time⁣⁣ with the Stenographers and use the machine a little bit. I really enjoyed it and felt as though this⁣⁣ is something I could see myself doing.”⁣⁣

“Court Reporting is an athletic event. Practicing is key for success.” Valerie explains that you must⁣⁣ be dedicated to working on your Steno machine, but the practice will certainly pay off when the⁣⁣ job opportunities begin rolling in.
