BINYOMIN

Nursing Student

Meet Binyomin, a soon-to-be graduate of Plaza College’s Nursing program. Binyomin is an ambitious student who grew up in a family of healthcare professionals. This led him to pursue nursing at Plaza College, where he discovered his passion for patient care.

“I received hands-on education on everything from giving IV fluids to responding to a cardiac arrest.”

Throughout his studies, Binyomin found that the Medical-Surgical courses quickly became his favorite. These classes offer insight into how nurses treat illnesses and injuries. His hands-on-training was put to the test in the simulation labs. He credits Plaza’s labs for sharpening his decision-making skills and helping him feel more prepared for real-world patient care.

A pivotal moment in Binyomin’s education occurred during a clinical rotation when a patient fainted in his arms. In that moment, he learned firsthand how crucial it is to remain calm, focused, and compassionate in high-stress situations. He credits his professors for sharpening his decision making skills and helping him feel more prepared for real-world patient care.

“I enjoy Plaza College’s tight-knit community. I have really gotten to know the students and staff on a personal level, which has been incredibly rewarding for me.”

Binyomin thrives in Plaza’s supportive community, where smaller cohorts allow him to build personal relationships with fellow students and faculty. Having that support was crucial, as the nursing program is a rigorous program that requires self-discipline and time-management skills.

“Study, study, study. Getting into good study habits is important to avoid becoming overwhelmed by the extensive coursework. Study at least a little bit every single day and get ahead of the material while you can – it’s the gold standard of nursing school.”

Binyomin advises incoming and prospective nursing students that studying is key. Attending classes, participating in labs, and completing clinical rotations are all essential, but their value is limited without the in-depth knowledge gained through diligent study

After his upcoming graduation, Binyomin hopes to begin his career as a nurse in an Emergency Department. He finds the fast-paced environment exciting and filled with learning opportunities. He also looks forward to furthering his education in the future, with the goal of ultimately earning his Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP).

With determination, compassion, and a strong foundation from Plaza College, Binyomin is on a clear path to becoming a skilled and dedicated nurse—ready to make a profound difference in the lives of his patients.
