GMail and Canvas

GMAIL

Gmail is Google’s cloud based email service that allows you to access your messages from any computer or device with just a web browser.

In this video, you’ll learn how to compose, send and reply to messages. You will also explore some of the common actions that can be applied to a Gmail message, and learn how to organize your mail using Gmail labels.

CANVAS

Inbox Overview

The Inbox tool in Canvas displays all messages sent and received within Canvas. View messages by course to see messages from a specific group of students.

Note: Communications via the Inbox are not the same as email.  These messages are internal Canvas messages from user-to-user.  However, in most cases, the messages will be relayed to the users via a notification to their GMail address.  The Canvas Inbox acts as a storage repository for messages.
