Bachelor of Science (B.S. Completion)
The Bachelor of Science completion program in Dental Hygiene gives licensed Dental Hygienists the opportunity to expand upon their clinical experience to gain additional expertise in developing community health intervention programs, understanding and applying epidemiologic data, evaluating academic curriculum, examining and evaluating social policy, and leading health practices.
WHAT IS DENTAL HYGIENE?
A dental hygienist is a licensed healthcare provider, working closely with their patients to reach and maintain optimal oral health and hygiene. This exciting field allows for the pursuit of a career not only in clinical practice, however, but in alternative career settings such as public health, academia, and research.

The Bachelor of Science completion program in Dental Hygiene complements the Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree in Dental Hygiene with a seamless transition. The program is responsive to the current needs of creating a new cadre of educated dental hygienists prepared to pursue careers in public health, academia, research and other alternative career settings. Entry-level students seeking clinical licensure must first enroll and complete the Dental Hygiene A.A.S.
Our professors are subject matter experts in their fields. Throughout the program, they’ll share their knowledge with you, providing a strong foundation and hands-on experience to prepare you for a successful dental career.
The Dental Hygiene completion program combines 76 associate-level program requirements with 51 credits of Liberal Arts and Science and non-clinical Dental Hygiene courses to complete a 127 baccalaureate degree. Enrollment in and completion of the B.S. is optional and is only offered to licensed dental hygienists that are graduates of an associate level program accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) of the American Dental Association. Enrollment in and completion of the B.S. is optional and is only offered to licensed dental hygienists. Entry-level students seeking clinical licensure must first enroll and complete the Dental Hygiene A.A.S.
